Telco Systems’ new AdvancedTCA product, the T6Pro, is a “very large” aggregation switch that has a capacity of up to 240gbps. It will be unveiled at SUPERCOMM.

“This is the first ATCA-based routing switch,” says Irit Gillath, vice president of IP product line management at Telco Systems. “ATCA allows for easier interoperability between vendors and common management interfaces and allows blades from one manufacturer to go into a chassis from other vendors.”

T6Pro performs Layer 2 switching and Layer 3 routing at wire speed and offers non-blocking connectivity of 10/100/1000mbps and 10gbps Ethernet, POS, ATM and EOS services. Its redundant CPU modules, switching modules, and power supplies guarantee maximum up-time and 99.9999 percent availability.

T6Pro, optimized for metropolitan core and large-scale distribution applications, comes in 14-slot, 12RU and 6-slot, 4RU configurations. All module types are interchangeable between T6Pro and T6Pro-C.

Also new at SUPERCOMM 2004 from Telco Systems will be Access 60 HDI, a new integrated access device aimed to help service providers move to IP services and VoIP. (For more on these types of products, see “IAD Vendors Latch on to VoIP,” page 16.) Gillath claims the Access 60 HDI has the highest density available in the marketplace — with up to 48 lines in a half-shelf (8.5-inch in a 3RU).

“It’s flexible because the chassis can mix and match a variety of cards that can support TDM, and VoIP with a remote software upgrade,” says Gillath. “You can also add PRI interfaces for existing PBXs or key systems.”

The product, for which Telco Systems would not provide pricing, will be available the second half of this year.
