VeriSign is WilTel’s preferred provider to develop and deploy a prepackaged Managed Security Services suite that allows the carrier’s business customers to expedite and simplify the deployment of firewall and intrusion-detection services, as well as ease the management of these security devices.
WilTel’s MSS suite predetermines hardware, software and cabling configurations to streamline the management and integration processes. The MSS suite employs VeriSign Intelligence and Control Services for Network Security to reduce the number of false positives, improve response times and alert customers of potential security threats. This agreement expands the WilTel and VeriSign relationship, which began in 1999.
VeriSign also provides WilTel with ISUP Trunk Signaling and Connectivity and Interoperability services, while WilTel provides network services to support VeriSign’s communications needs.
