Introducing the IBC Immersion Center
vision2mobile is introducing an entirely new digital platform designed to help you, the video and mobility services professional, get the most out of next month’s IBC, whether you attend the seminal event in Amsterdam yourself or acquire your IBC information from the device of your choice: introducing the IBC Immersion Center.
It will launch next week, devoted entirely to IBC coverage. An Immersion Center is a V2M innovation, a dedicated microsite that aggregates v2m content around a particularly important theme or subject. The IBC Immersion Center will offer extensive coverage leading up to the event on what to expect, which sessions will be the most exciting, and who will be making the news. It will feature a live Twitter feed around the appropriate hashtags. It will also be a resource for deeper intelligence: It will include two v2m Digital Issues: “Emerging Concerns for IPTV" and September’s issue, “Hybridization, OTT and the Role of the Web in the Living Room." It will also host reports, including August’s “New Television Viewing Models." A special post-show report will be added as well, which will identify the 10 most important things to come out of IBC.
In addition, the Immersion Center will include Q&As with key industry executives, previews of particularly important sessions at IBC, IBC exhibitor spotlights, news stories, slide shows and image galleries, and blogs – all created to help you get the most out of the IBC.
Twice recently I have blogged about the IBC. The first was a review of the large and growing significance of the IBC, not just in the world of technology and business, but in the global information age society in which we are all citizens. The second mapped the significance of the IBC to the governing premise behind v2m, and how v2m’s premium content strategy is ideal when applied to a large, dynamic source of information and innovation like the IBC.
Here’s where the two thoughts come together.
You will be seeing more V2M Immersion Centers in the future, specifically for 4G World and TelcoTV this fall, and Mobile World Congress, CTIA and IPTV World Forum in the first part of 2012. But the IBC comes first.
IBC will be one of the seminal events of 2011, and will be conducted in the midst of perhaps the greatest financial turmoil of our lifetimes. The information – about products, ideas, consumption models, strategies and competitive positioning, and the impact of externalities like the financial markets and consumer confidence levels – that comes out of IBC will shape the industry’s future. And the Immersion Center will put you right in the center of IBC’s maelstrom of energy and creativity – whether you are checking in from Amsterdam, New York or Bangalore.
You need to understand all this information. V2M will take you beyond the headline. V2M will take you to the key personalities, ideas and companies shaping the industry’s agenda in the Netherlands next month.
Grab your device. You’re a click away from V2M and IBC.
