Smoked
Friday and Saturday were a bust for cooking. Since we are having some painting done, the fumes in the house were too much and we went out to eat both days. However, after sleeping with the windows open and the fans going all night, Sunday was a good day for cooking. I began with an omelette stuffed with sweet and spicy shrimp. Delicious! Then I began what can only be described as a project. I love homemade lasagna. Simply put, most restaurants do not make traditional homemade lasagna. First, it is time consuming and second, very difficult to “hold" until ordered. Therefore, it is up to us to get the real thing. Although really easy to make, it does take time. I shared a beef version of lasagna with you in 2009 (Italian Lasagna), so today’s recipe is made using smoked chicken. I developed this recipe a few years ago for a friend that did not eat beef with the key goal of delivering flavor. Using ground smoked chicken or turkey, a nutmeg-scented béchamel sauce and great cheese, this version is very satisfying. Like all good lasagnas it takes a little time but it is well worth it. Smoke Chicken Lasagna is the recipe of the week. Enjoy!
COMPTEL
I arrived at COMPTEL this morning and due to the blog I haven’t gotten registered yet. COMPTEL is a wholesale show for Broadvox so the sales team and contacts are very different from our other shows. We also sponsor a meeting suite rather than a booth. This allows for better interactions with prospects and existing customers. It is also an opportunity for me to spend time with the wholesale team as they are based out Cleveland and I Dallas. The objective for this show is simple, we are here to close business.
I’ll update you on the show tomorrow after I have had a chance to attend some sessions and meet a few people.
By the way, I just got drafted into participating on a panel this afternoon. That should be interesting. According to urban dictionary, I just got taken advantage of or smoked!
