WorldCom Inc. announced Thursday that it will introduce private label DSL services for Internet service providers and other communications companies.

The offer is available in 31 major metro markets through more than 700 central offices and gives wholesale customers access to the carrier’s IP network spanning six continents, WorldCom said.

Speakeasy, a national broadband services company, and ClearPath, a VPN service company for small and medium-sized businesses, are among WorldCom’s first wholesale DSL customers.

“WorldCom’s private label DSL customers immediately benefit from WorldCom’s nationwide DSL footprint, an end-to-end DSL solution and direct connections to the world’s most expansive global network,” said Frank Grillo, WorldCom’s senior vice president of business marketing, in a statement released Thursday.
