Nortel Reorganizes, Announces Departure of Company Veteran

Nortel announced today organizational changes to streamline the company’s Wireless Networks, Wireline Networks, Enterprise Networks and Optical Networks businesses. Also announced today was news that 15-year company veteran Frank Plastina, president of Metro and Enterprise Networks, is leaving the company.

The leadership management team, who will now all be reporting directly to president and CEO Frank Dunn, includes Pascal Debon, who continues as president of Wireless Networks; and Brian McFadden, who continues as president of Optical Networks. Also reporting to Dunn is Sue Spradley, who has been named president of Wireline Networks, and is responsible for driving cost-effective packet solutions for Nortel Networks voice, data and multimedia service offerings, as well as maintaining Nortel’s leadership position in circuit technology solutions (formerly part of Metro and Enterprise Networks).

For the Enterprise Networks business (formerly part of Metro and Enterprise Networks), Oscar Rodriguez was named president and general manager, responsible for business strategy and investment, and product strategy, execution and delivery. Robert Burke continues as president, Enterprise Marketing, responsible for Enterprise solution and channel marketing.
