GRIC Communications Inc. on Tuesday announced its Global Internet Roaming Network includes more than 1,000 broadband access locations and Wi-Fi roaming in 44 airports around the world.
GRIC, based in Milpitas, Calif., is a carrier’s carrier that leases Internet connections to other service providers through access points in more than 150 countries.
The company disclosed Tuesday that its wired and wireless broadband access points topped 1,000, totaling 1,072. GRIC also noted its network is located in 44 airports.
The company most recently added broadband coverage at the Narita Airport in Tokyo. GRIC uses Wi-Fi in airports, a wireless technology that allows people to plug into the Internet and search corporate data including e-mail through a remote access point.
GRIC offers broadband service in 10 countries and dial-up access in more than 150.
