Net to Net Technologies, which sells Ethernet-based DSL solutions, has announced a new T1 Loop Bonding module for its family of IP DSLAMs. The module is the third access technology that supports the company's Loop Bonding technology, along with ADSL and SHDSL.
Net to Net's T1 Loop Bonding module is available in 12- and 24-port models for its IPD modular DSLAM family. The 12-port module, the TIM1500-12, is supported in all IPD chassis, including Net to Net's legacy IPD12000 and IPD4000 chassis. The 24-port module, the TIM1500-24, is supported in the newly announced IPD12000E and IPD4000E Enhanced IP DSLAMs. In addition to T1, all IPD chassis provide additional access technologies including ADSL, SHDSL, E1, and IDSL.
The company says T1 loop bonding is especially useful for high-speed data connections using standard T1 lines, as well as for high-speed backhaul connections from remote DSLAMs. When used in conjunction with Net to Net's TNE1520-S, a Dual T1 Subscriber Unit, up to 3mbps can be delivered to the customer premises. All of Net to Net's loop bonding solutions include automatic failover and recovery, providing automatic redundancy should one of the T1 lines incur a fault.
The TIM1500 modules are also available for E1 applications. The E1 Loop Bonding modules are the EIM2000-12 and EIM2000-24. All new T1 and E1 Loop Bonding modules will be shipping in August 2003, and may be ordered either directly from Net to Net or through one of its IPartner resellers.
