Alcatel’s new 1626 Light Manager is a core DWDM platform for long-haul to ultra long-haul terrestrial network applications and unrepeatered undersea applications.
It offers 4,500 km reach and capacity of 192 wavelengths at 10gbps. The 1626 also extends the Alcatel 1686WM and 1640 OADM/WM DWDM systems by up to 2,500km.
The product supports the new ITU Optical Transport Network standard, has tunable transponders over the full spectrum range, automated commissioning and self-maintenance features. Reconfigurable optical add/drop and cross-connect functions are
integrated.
