Wi-Fi Guys LLC has installed wireless high-speed Internet access at the AmericInn of Duluth/Proctor, Minn.
To access the wireless high-speed Internet, guests simply obtain a password from the hotel’s front desk. With a Wi-Fi-enabled laptop or PDA, the guest can log onto a secure wireless network and begin surfing the Web.
The AmericInn has 67 rooms and suites, and is located minutes away from the Spirit Mountain Ski Area. “We wanted to offer our guests the latest and fastest way to reach their clients, accounts, families and co-workers over the Internet, from anywhere in the hotel,” says Janet Broin, general manager. “High-speed Internet is an added value that we can offer our business travelers to make our hotel more functional for this clientele.”
The AmericInn, a 2000 Design Excellence Award winner, features a pool, whirlpool, sauna and gaming area, and offers a continental breakfast. The hotel adjoins the Black Woods\AmericInn Conference Center, which accommodates up to 300 people, and the Black Woods Grill & Bar.
Wi Fi Guys service, available via agents, offers unlimited use of high-speed Internet, up to 50 times faster than dial-up, using 802.11b and 802.11g wireless protocol standards; round-the-clock toll-free technical support; no timeouts or dropped connections during inactivity or downloads; and wireless Internet access in hotel common areas, such as lobbies, restaurants and by the pool.
“Our focus is to provide the millions of mobile travelers with immediate high-speed access to their e-mail, company’s intranet or any other Internet activity they require,” says Jay Lewis, vice president at Wi-Fi Guys.
