Adopting a cable TV-like business model, EarthLink has launched a premium sports service for $9.95 per month. It includes sports video and audio content from NASCAR, Major League Baseball, the National Hockey League and college sports, along with fantasy sports games and information.
Synacor is providing EarthLink with the content through its existing relationships with a variety of fee-based online services and is making that contact available through a single sign-in and interface.
