Apple this week introduced an 802.11g-based device that allows users to stream iTunes music to any room in their homes, connect to the Internet, and print – all wirelessly.

AirPort Express with AirTunes, which delivers data rates of up to 54mbps, sells for $129.

The new product follows in the footsteps of Apple’s AirPort Extreme 802.11g box, which the company announced earlier this year.

For this new music application, users connect their sound systems to the audio port on the AirPort Express Base Station using an audio cable, which is included in the optional $39 AirPort Express Stereo Connection Kit, and AirTunes plays iTunes music through the stereo or powered speakers wirelessly.
