Lucent Technologies Inc. today announced a flurry of new customer contracts for its Accelerate VoIP and Lucent/Juniper Networks Inc. IP solutions.
Rye Telephone Co. of Colorado has tapped Lucent and Designed Telecommunications, a Lucent Business Partner, to deliver the Lucent iGEN Compact Switch products to offer enhanced calling services to residential and business customers over its existing wireline and wireless local network and new IP network.
Another new Accelerate customer is Telscape, a local and long-distance telco out of Southern California. The carrier, which targets the Hispanic market, plans to deploy iGEN later this year.
Meanwhile, Xspedius Communications awarded Lucent a three-year, $35 million contract for both Accelerate and Juniper routing equipment. And US LEC Corp. tapped Lucent to provide it with Juniper gear to support its growth and deliver new services.
