WilTel’s new Focal Point is a hub-and-spoke data network service that enables enterprise customers to create a cost- effective, price-predictable means of aggregating lower speed data and IP traffic from several geographically dispersed locations to one high-speed circuit at a central location.
Customers can choose either 14 or 28 DS1 private line connections from remote locations that are aggregated into a single DS3 circuit at the Focal Point. In addition, customers can bundle DS1 dedicated Internet access from the Focal Point using either option.
"Focal Point enables customers to manage their data and IP transport needs more effectively because of its predictable price structure that is distance insensitive and minimizes access costs," says Tony Tomae, senior vice president of marketing for WilTel. "For example, an enterprise with a headquarters on the East Coast can use Focal Point to connect to its branch locations around the United States, as well as fulfill their high-speed Internet access needs, with one flat rate."
