WilTel Communications has launched its data, video, IP and professional services to the cable market.

WilTel’s Extended On-Net is ideal for cable operators that have operations in Tier 2 and 3 markets, but incur prohibitive access costs and little or no access to broadband network solutions. The solution reduces network access costs in Tier 2 and 3 markets by providing more than 300 high-bandwidth, on-net access locations along WilTel's nationwide fiber-optic backbone in those markets. Customers can connect to Extended On-Net sites either through buried or wire-line fiber, or via fixed wireless access directly from customer premises.
WilTel's wide-area Ethernet service, EWAN, provides a solution for cable operators to expand beyond their residential business. It allows customers to extend the familiar Ethernet protocol to the wide area and connect multiple enterprise offices, devices and applications across a protocol-agnostic platform.
