DC Access, a wireless ISP, and Telkonet Inc., a company using powerline communications technology to carry broadband service through the electrical outlet, on Monday announced a partnership to provide high-speed Internet access to multidwelling and multitenant buildings.

The partnership calls for DC Access to provide wireless high-speed Internet access to the buildings, with Germantown, Md.-based Telkonet delivering Internet access inside the structures using powerline communications technology.

DC Access and Telkonet have disclosed plans to install broadband service at the Congressional House, a 50-unit, six-story commercial building occupied by lobbyists, small businesses and non-profit groups.

DC Access, based in Washington D.C., delivers a wireless broadband connection by establishing high-powered antennas on rooftops and uses Wi-Fi transmitters to deliver a signal directly into a home or business.
