Alvarion Ltd. on Tuesday said China Netcom plans to expand a 3.5GHz broadband wireless solution to sites in four provinces to provide small and medium-sized businesses a range of IP services, including high-speed Internet access, voice over Internet Protocol and leased lines.
China Network also plans to support Internet hotspots, ISP backbone services and a VoIP service that is set up like an Internet café, Alvarion said.
Alvarion and Siemens Communication Networks Ltd., Beijing, a joint venture between Siemens AG and four Chinese enterprises, plan to implement the Alvarion solution in the provinces of Sichuan, Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Hunan, Alvarion announced.
China Network has implemented the Alvarion WALKair solution in three provinces over the last year.
