CompTel/ASCENT and the International Packet Communications Consortium (IPCC) on Monday disclosed entering a memorandum of understanding (MOU), which calls for the two groups to work together to accelerate the adoption of VoIP and packet communications technologies and services.

The associations plan to develop a joint advisory group to foster the development of guidelines and solutions designed to increase the deployment of VoIP and packet-based networks and services.

The agreement calls for the IPCC to provide content development and speakers for panel discussions at CompTel/ASCENT Spring and Fall conventions and other VoIP educational conferences the association may host. The two groups will cross-promote trade show and educational conferences and co-sponsor networking events for their respective membership.

Members of either group also will be eligible for first-year membership discounts in the other organization, CompTel/ASCENT and the IPCC announced.
