Service provider ALLTEL is using Nortel Networks’ carrier VoIP local and long-distance solutions for a network migration in select locations across North Carolina and Georgia. ALLTEL executives say they expect the company to save capital and operational expenses.
Nortel Networks Carrier VoIP Solutions transmit voice, video and data over one high-speed packet network, eliminating the need for separate networks, the company says. This enables central office consolidation, a key component in saving money on capital and operating expenses.
ALLTEL already uses several Nortel Networks technologies.
