Technical planning and standards development organization ATIS today at TELECOM '04 hosts several sessions focused on the direction of the industry, from an operations and technology perspective, and what innovations can be expected. ATIS President and CEO Susan Miller says the ATIS Technology Forum will be presented from a large carriers perspective.
During the opening session, Miller will lead a discussion with four technology leaders from the RBOCs, BellSouth CTO Bill Smith, Qwest CTO Balan Nair, SBC CTO Chris Rice and Paul Lacouture, president of Verizon's Network Services Group.
That session will be followed by two breakout sessions: Video over IP: Are We There Yet? and Delivering the E-Business Framework: Real Time Processes.
"USTA has a lot of wisdom in recognizing that policy and technology are very closely intertwined," says Miller.
