MapCom Systems and Communications Data Group (CDG, Booth 436) have signed a non-exclusive co-marketing agreement designed to bring together MapCom Systems' GIS-based M4 Solutions with CDG's Modularity customer care and billing suite.
According to the parties, today's announcement illustrates both companies' commitments to an open-system approach to facilities and customer management.
The agreement means that telco and cable users of MapCom's flagship M4 Solutions Suite will be able to drill down into any cable, fiber, network component or structure within their inside or outside plant, and to see its correlation to customers and their records as contained in CDG's Modularity system.
By synchronizing customer and plant records in this fashion, telecom companies can provide geographic customer lookup capability, perform instant qualifications for new service, coordinate line assignments, trouble and dispatch efforts and quickly determine which customers are affected by issues with any particular cables or network components, among a host of additional functions.
MapCom's M4 complements CDG's Modularity billing solution by providing visual representation of physical plant facilities from data residing within the customer care, plant records and trouble-reporting modules.
"CDG aggressively seeks ways to improve our customers' business experience by providing them greater efficiency, options and flexibility, and automated, highly functional tools," says Lonnie Ross, CDG general manager. "Our agreement with MapCom opens even greater possibilities for our mutual clients to expand their services and capabilities."
