Motorola Inc. said this week it is shipping an integrated version of its 900 MHz Canopy wireless broadband radio that features an integrated antenna, allowing the radios to reach up to 40 miles in a point-to-multipoint, line-of-sight application and provide enhanced penetration for non line-of-sight applications.
Motorola also has released software for the Canopy 900 MHz modules, which the company says increases the aggregate throughput by a factor of two, up to 2.1mbps per second to a single user. The software also is designed to decrease latency from 45 milliseconds to 15 milliseconds.
