Wavesat Inc., a developer of broadband wireless chips, said today it has delivered the first-ever WiMAX chip, the DM256. The company is planning to make the chips generally available early next month.
The DM256 is Wavesat’s sixth generation of OFDM products and, the company says, the first to comply with the IEEE 802.16-2004 standard.
Wavesat also says it is partnering with EDOM Technology Co. Ltd., which will distribute Wavesat chips in Taiwan.
