Lucent Technologies is integrating WiMAX technology into its Accelerate Next Generation Communications Solutions product line – including the Lucent IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) – by using Alvarion’s BreezeMAX line.
Lucent is teaming with Alvarion, which makes wireless broadband networks, to deliver a converged networking product to service providers that includes interoperability of WiMAX, 3G mobile, and Wi-Fi and wireline networks. Lucent’s IMS helps service providers deliver communications services across wireless and wireline networks, letting them offer service bundles.
Lucent Worldwide Services also will provide its deployment, maintenance and professional services to support WiMAX infrastructure and applications.
BreezeMAX is Alvarion's 3G orthogonal frequency division multiplexing platform with advanced non-line-of-sight functionality and a WiMAX-ready platform.
