SBC Communications Corp., which has never played a big role at the Consumer Electronics Show, this week will be one of the prominent names featured at the show in Las Vegas.
Ed Whitacre, chairman and CEO at SBC, will give a keynote speech on Thursday morning. The company recently announced plans to deliver IPTV services based on Microsoft Corp. technology.
Also at the show, SBC expects to unveil “several innovative new services” that “will harness the power and the promise of the Internet to integrate voice, broadband,
wireless and video.” SBC says these services will focus on the user as opposed to the device.
