The nation’s eleventh-largest school district, the Detroit Public Schools, has chosen XO Communications Inc. as its primary voice and data services provider.
The three-year, $8 million agreement calls for XO to provide the 140,000-student school system with local voice services and high-speed Internet access. There are more than 235 schools and administrative locations around Detroit.
The school system says having XO as its provider means it will save more than $1.5 million annually on telecommunications costs.
