SBC Communications Inc. this week made agreements with Boingo Wireless and Airpath Wireless that will make SBC FreedomLink hotspots available to thousands of Wi-Fi users.
The contract with Airpath adds 3,300 nationwide and international locations to SBC’s FreedomLink network, while the deal with Boingo gives Boingo users access to the FreedomLink network, adding 3,400 more hotspots for SBC.
SBC companies will receive revenue whenever Airpath and Boingo customers use the FreedomLink network.
This week’s deals are in addition to others SBC has made with companies including GoRemote, iPass and Syniverse Technologies, to receive revenue when their customers roam on the SBC Wi-Fi network.
SBC companies also have agreements with Wayport Inc. and Sprint Corp. that provide SBC Wi-Fi customers with roaming access at more than 700 nationwide hotspots.
