Sun Announces ISV, Netra Partners

Sun Microsystems Inc. today announced at CTIA that 34 independent software vendors (ISVs) have agreed to port a range of telecom applications to the Solaris 10

Operating System. Partners include Lenovo, Ulticom, Veraz Networks, VoiceGenie and other companies globally.

Sun also unveiled further details of its next-generation Netra Advanced Telecom Computing Architecture (ATCA) blade platform strategy today by announcing alliances with jNetX and Open Cloud, leading JAIN Service Logic Execution Environment (JAIN SLEE) providers, to accelerate development and deployment of new IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) services for convergent fixed- mobile network environments. By partnering with these leading JAIN SLEE providers, Sun will enable carrier-grade service creation and execution environments for its upcoming Netra ATCA blade platform, supporting both Solaris 10 and Carrier-Grade Linux operating systems.
