TDS Telecom, a subsidiary of Telephone & Data Systems, has signed a multiyear contract to use equipment maker Entrisphere’s new BLM 1500 Broadband Loop Multiplexer.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The BLM 1500 lets carriers support voice, data and video services, allowing them to transition from circuit-switched to converged packet networks, or from copper to FTTP networks. It delivers services via PON and copper transport.
TDS Telecom is headquartered in Wisconsin and serves more than 1 million wireline accounts.
