Signaling and next-gen switch equipment company Tekelec says Valley Telecom Group will deploy two EAGLE 5 Signaling Applications Systems and traffic management applications in an effort to reduce costs and generate revenue.
Valley Telecom Group is a cooperative of four rural independent operating companies that includes Valley Telephone Cooperative, Copper Valley Telephone, Valley Connections LLC and Valley Telecommunications. The companies deliver telephone, wireless and Internet services in Arizona and New Mexico.
Using Tekelec's EAGLE SAS platforms, the consortium will expand capacity to offer signaling capabilities to other independent operating companies and lower costs by reducing the amount it spends with other SS7 carriers.
