Broadband equipment maker Aperto Networks today at the Broadband Wireless World show in Las Vegas announced the results of a collaboration with Fujitsu Microelectronics America Inc. (FMA), a provider of wireline and wireless technologies for communications networks.

The companies have been testing and integrating the Fujitsu MB87M3400 system-on-a-chip into Aperto’s WiMAX systems development, and say the tests fulfilled critical performance aspects needed for WiMAX certification.

Aperto and Fujitsu now are doing pre-certification testing of all system functionalities, and say they are on track for the WiMAX Forum July 2005 early-stage Plugfest and tests at the WiMAX Forum certification lab in Malaga, Spain.
