Sprint Corp. said today it has signed high-speed wireless service roaming agreements with four broadband ISPs and a virtual network enabler, boosting its number of Wi-Fi hotspots to more than 19,000.

Sprint plans to have 25,000 hotspots in place by the end of the year.

The carrier has signed with Quiconnect, a virtual network enabler headquartered in London. Quiconnect will extend Sprint’s network reach to more than 30 airports by the end of 2005.

Another deal with Fiberlink Communications Corp., an enterprise partner for secure mobile workforce solutions, gives Sprint customers access to 3,800 hotspots through Sprint’s Extended Workplace Client.

Sprint also has signed with Opti-Fi, which has airport Wi-Fi systems in North America, giving Sprint subscribers access to more than 30 more airport venues across the United States.

Sprint further has signed a bilateral roaming agreement with Pronto Networks that allows each company’s customers to access the other’s public Wi-Fi networks.

Finally, Sprint also has made an agreement with Nomadix, granting Sprint customers access to more than 350 venues.
