AirTight Networks, a provider of Wi-Fi firewalls that launched late last year, this week at Interop comes out with its SpectraGuard Enterprise solution, a Wi-Fi firewall that protects against rogue APs, denial of service attacks and even misconfigured APs.

The company this week will also reveal its first set of customers and relationships with several well-known security VARs.

The product also can be used for planning WLAN RF coverage, including deployment sensor and AP coverage views; detecting WLAN transmissions, such as detection of all threat types, common and malicious; classifying WLAN transmissions, including automatic classification of rouges from benign external APs; protecting against intrusion, including prevention of all threat types such as rogue/misbehaving devices, DOS attacks and ad-hoc networks; and locating WLAN devices, which means no site surveys are needed due to the product’s ability to self-adjust to site RF characteristics.

The SpectraGuard Enterprise also can be remotely managed and monitored, and setup can be done in less than 30 minutes with its wizard interface, says an AirTight spokesperson.

AirTight Networks’ executive team includes Chairman and CEO David King, who was previously with Proxim, and Vice President Jai Rawat, who was previously with AOL Time Warner.
