CopperCom said today that Ringgold Telephone Company (RTC), a nearly 100-year old LEC in Georgia, has deployed CopperCom’s Converged Switching eXchange (CSX) next-generation switch. The CopperCom softswitch enables RTC to provide voice, data and video services to its 14,000 subscribers.
The two companies will demonstrate voice and collaboration services over IP at the CopperCom booth at SUPERCOMM 2005.
CopperCom’s CSX Switching System is a Rural Utilities Services (RUS)-listed switch that delivers applications ranging from greenfield deployments and cap-and-replace of legacy systems to advanced service delivery over packet networks. The CSX offers VoIP and legacy voice services, as well as personalized control of features via a Web-based interface.
The CopperCom CSX deployment is providing RTC with functionality including SS7 A-Link consolidation, Class 4 intermediate tandem functionality, LNP capabilities and more.
