Lucent Technologies Inc. is upping the capacity on its Stinger DSLAM for central office and FTTN video applications.
The enhanced Stinger Compact Remote system, which hit the market last month, provides a 50 percent increase in throughput offering gigabit Ethernet trunking.
And a new control module, the Stinger IP2100, which became generally available in March, provides full IP routing, and advanced Layer 3 features like IP multicast routing, integrated BRAS and security for triple play applications. This remote unit also provides an easy way to add capacity to a Lucent Stinger DSL host platform, which can support up to 42 Stinger compact remotes and a total of 6,048 DSL ports.
