Leveraging the Highdeal Transactive pricing and rating software suite for mobile, IP and multimedia services, Highdeal has created an emerging billing architecture necessitated by rapid service creation environments such as IMS and Service Delivery Platforms, to better handle marketing requirements like product, placement, price and promotion.
The vendor has signed America Online Inc. as a customer for the new multiservice pricing and rating architecture. AOL will deploy a broad range of new services while leveraging its existing billing infrastructure; VoIP from AOL Germany is the first Highdeal-enabled service from the ISP.
“We are seeing this trend among both service providers new to voice services, such as cable MSOs, ISPs and municipalities, as well as existing telcos whose billing systems are ill-equipped for a multi-service revolution,” says a Highdeal spokesperson.
“Highdeal Transactive’s ‘decision tree’ technology was very appealing, as it provided high flexibility and performance,” says Jens Pape, vice president of technology and operations at AOL Germany. “Being able to use a single rating engine for all different payment and price plans tipped the scales in favor of Highdeal,” He adds, “In order to reach high customer loyalty and ARPU, the ability to create flexible price plans and rate for convergent services were absolutely critical.”
