City Installs MeshLinx Network

The City of Colleyville, Texas has partnered with MeshLinx Wireless to launch a Wi-Fi pilot network.

City leaders want the network to link Colleyville’s two fire stations and the public works service center so first responders can communicate securely.

The wireless network covers about four square miles. It is interoperable with other Wi-Fi 802.11 networks, and has WiMAX 802.16 capabilities. MeshLinx says its technology is self-healing and self-routing with no single point of failure. The system delivers gross data rates up to 54mbps to subscribers and a 432mbps link to the wire/fiber connection.
