Verizon Communications Inc. is bringing its iobi software service to homes and businesses in the mid-Atlantic states.
iobi lets users manage phone calls and e-mail and voice mail messages from their desktop phones, computers or wireless phones.
Verizon already offers iobi Home and iobi Professional in many parts of the country.
“This is a feature set that distinguishes a Verizon phone line from all other communications services by linking phone call, e-mail, text and voice-message management in a single, easy-to-use service,” says Judy Verses, senior vice president of national marketing for Verizon. “With features like programmable call forwarding, a real-time call director tool for handling calls as they come in with a click of the mouse, and integrated directories and calendars, iobi trumps traditional and voice-over-IP features.”
iobi is built on a proprietary data platform that integrates the Verizon wireline network with other networks and the Internet.
iobi Home costs $7.95 per month per line and includes Caller ID and other standard call forwarding features. iobi Professional runs $11.95 per month per line. It includes all of the features of iobi Home as well as an administrative console that lets an office manager control the features available to individual office lines.
