AT&T Corp. said today it is opening two new Internet data centers in California and China, and expanding its presence in the New York City building by 27 percent.

The added capacity means AT&T will be able to provide managed hosting services from 28 such data centers worldwide – 14 inside the United States, and 14 outside.

The new California facility is located in San Jose and will open in November. The new China facility is in Shanghai and also will open in November.

“We’re seeing tremendous demand for our hosting capabilities all over the world,” says Mike Jenner, vice president of AT&T Hosting and Application Management Services. “In addition to increasing our capacity and physical footprint, we’re focused on providing businesses value-added managed hosting services, such as pay-per-use capacity, enabling our customers to easily and affordably manage their applications and better serve their end-users.”
