Cisco Systems Inc. is investing in Wi-Fi-based Active RFID by funding sales and marketing efforts at AeroScout Inc.
The agreement also gives Cisco a minority equity stake in AeroScout.
“This relationship will better enable the two companies to take advantage of the strong synergies between Cisco’s wireless networking equipment and AeroScout’s Active RFID solutions,” says Yuval Bar-Gil, CEO of AeroScout.
AeroScout’s technologies allow enterprises to use Cisco Wi-Fi networks to locate and manage assets. AeroScout is a member of the Cisco Technology Developer Program and the Cisco Solutions Technology Integrator Program.
