Convergin, a provider of wireless convergence servers, said today Tekelec has agreed to resell the Convergin Accolade platform as part of Tekelec's Real Convergence Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) offering.
The deal means Tekelec now can offer convergence solutions for fixed and mobile network service providers that are focusing on deploying IMS.
Convergin is combining its Wireless Convergence Server and Accolade with Tekelec's family of switching products to create a mobile switching solution with capabilities in mobile and SIP domains.
Convergin also is integrating Accolade with the Tekelec 6000Voice over IP Application Server to offer enhanced SIP-based services across fixed and mobile networks.
The result allows Tekelec customers to take advantage of an IMS distributed architecture to accelerate convergence on mobile and SIP networks, the companies say.
