Vidéotron is deploying its General Bandwidth’s G6 Universal Media Gateway Platforms to deliver primary line residential cable telephony services across the its network in Québec.
VoIP equipment manufacturer General Bandwidth made the announcement yesterday. Vidéotron is a cable television, multimedia development and Internet access services provider.
Vidéotron initially launched the residential services along Montreal's South Shore in January, and recently introduced them in the Québec City and Montreal areas. It was the first major cable operator in Canada to offer residential telephone services over cable.
