Argus Technologies (Booth 109), designer and manufacturer of DC power solutions for the communications industry, has released Tempest Te17 as part of its line of Tempest outdoor enclosures, and Tempest Tower, designed to meet a range of 12VDC, 24VDC and 48VDC power and backup applications for WiMAX and utility market requirements.
“WiMAX providers are excited about Argus’ Te17 because it’s easy to install and highly cost-effective for their DC powering needs,” says Doug Wicks, product manager.
“It’s designed to fit through narrow doorways and in stairwells so even remote rooftop installations are not a problem. The Te17 is also ideal for other power and equipment applications. With rack or module mount, this cabinet is flexible to meet the needs of a wide variety of customer equipment.”
The Tempest Te17 features an optional subbase, which can be used for cable management or batteries. A modular design allows for a number of cable entrance or AC panel options.
Environmental control choices include air conditioning (up to 5,000BTU), insulation and heating, as well as battery heater pads to meet specific environmental requirements.
The Te17 is part of the Argus Tempest series of enclosures. Tempests are built with lightweight, durable aluminum construction to withstand severe environmental conditions.
Meanwhile, Argus also has unveiled the Tempest Te19 Tower Enclosure.
“At 13 inches wide and 48 inches tall, the system is compact, and easy to install as either a wall mount or pole mount system,” Wicks says. “The combination of features makes the Tempest Tower a very effective solution for remote outdoor power applications.”
The Tempest Te19 Tower is designed for a range of compact power and battery runtime requirements. With a NEMA 3R rating (IP55 rating option), the environmentally controlled tower is a compact, self-contained outdoor power system that includes the Argus Cordex CXCI controller, Argus Cordex rectifiers and AlphaCell batteries.
The AlphaCell standard gel battery is a maintenance-free, VRLA battery with lead calcium grids for improved performance, longer runtimes and extended service life.
The CXCI controller provides complete system monitoring and control through a Web browser. All system parameters can be monitored and adjusted through a password-protected Web page.
