ADTRAN Inc., maker of the Total Access suite of integrated access devices, today introduced two new platforms to help carriers deliver IP voice and data services to SMBs.

ADTRAN says the Total Access 904 and 908 are multiservice access gateways that combine the voice functionality of the company’s integrated access devices with IP routing, security and QoS features.

“Regardless of the service the carrier is rolling out, whether it is data only, IP trunking, or Hosted PBX, the Total Access 900 Series can meet [carriers’] needs in a single platform that simplifies installation, configuration, upgrades and management,” says Tim Saunders, vice president of product management for ADTRAN’s Enterprise Networks Division.

The Total Access 904 and 908 support applications including trunk-side services, like PRI, to accommodate proprietary IP PBXs and traditional PBXs or phone systems; hosted PBX applications using IP phones; and line-side services, according to ADTRAN.

The devices have a T1 port for WAN connectivity, a 10/100Base-T Ethernet port for connection to an Ethernet switch, a PRI/T1 port for PBX connectivity, and either four or eight voice ports to support various analog devices. The platforms also offer a SIP Gateway, an IP router, stateful inspection firewall, advanced QoS features, IPSec VPN functionality, remote survivability, IP phone provisioning and management and call admission control.

The new platforms come with free, around-the-clock technical support, free firmware updates and 10-year warranties. They will be available at the end of November. The Total Access 904 is listed at $1,025, while the Total Access 908 is listed at $1,150.
