WSJ: Yahoo! Changes Mind about AOL

Yahoo! Inc. has decided not to buy part of Time Warner’s AOL Web portal and content activities, The Wall Street Journal is reporting.

Yahoo’s reported pullout clears the way for Google Inc. and Microsoft Corp. to pursue their interest in the online advertising market via AOL.

According to the Journal, Google and Microsoft apparently are “neck and neck” in the discussions, and Time Warner next week likely will choose one of them and enter exclusive negotiations.
