OSS provider Telcordia today introduced ringback tones and location-based services as part of its converged applications suite.
The new applications run on the Telcordia Converged Application Server, which supports the PSTN and IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS)-based protocols such as SIP.
Telcordia has teamed with Telenity, a value-added services and platforms provider, for media management of the ringback tones service, and the applications for location-based services.
“Telcordia is reducing the complexity of rolling out new revenue-generating services and offering operators rapid time to revenue for high-value services,” said Scott Erickson, president of IMS service delivery solutions for Telcordia.
Ringback tones are selected by the subscriber; they take the place of the ringing tone the calling party hears when making a call. Location-based services allow a provider’s customers to perform functions such as child- or fleet-tracking and finding the nearest restaurant or gas station.
The new applications are pre-integrated with the Telcordia Converged Real-Time Charging platform.
