Actelis Networks has added a new, high-capacity Ethernet access device to its product line, the company announced today.
The new ML600 combines the company's EFMplus Ethernet in the First Mile copper transmission capabilities with Carrier Ethernet service delivery features.
EFMplus, which Actelis previously has referred to as MetaLOOP, is an "enhanced" version of the Ethernet in the First Mile standard, according the company. It allows for the delivery of fiber-like performance over copper. That's important, the company said, because one of the main barriers for end users to adopt Ethernet services is their concerns about whether Ethernet services are carrier-class and as good as TDM.
The ML600 delivers up to 45mbps of symmetrical Ethernet services over up to eight pairs of existing copper, and up to 400mbps over fiber infrastructure. It can be deployed in a point-to-point configuration or as the CPE in a point-to-multipoint configuration with Actelis EFM switches.
Actelis is planning more enhancements to its product line.
