Chibardun Telephone Cooperative Inc., an IOC/CLEC in Wisconsin, within the next 12 months plans to bring a business continuity data server/storage backup service to market for its business customers, CEO Rick Vergin told xchange.
While customers are not asking for this service in large numbers, many customers with small networks do need this kind of offering, and Chibardun plans to inform them of that, he said.
In the area of Wisconsin served by Chibardun, lightning strikes and backhoe cuts are the most common reasons for network outages. And because Chibardun leases some of its network from CenturyTel, which doesn't have a redundant network, and that can be a problem, said Vergin.
