Nokia unveiled the Nokia 6136 UMA device at the 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona, which can switch seamlessly between GSM and WLAN networks.
Unlicensed Mobile Access technology competes with IMS as a way to enable operators to deliver voice and data services across converged networks. Both will enable operators to offload traffic to VoIP over WLAN where available.
The Nokia 6136 is expected to be available in the second quarter.
