Broadband services provider Tut Systems Inc. has been named an authorized reseller of Siemens Communications Inc.’s SURPASS Home Entertainment middleware, part of the company’s IPTV product lineup.
Part of the agreement calls for Tut Systems to take a systems integration approach, helping independent operating companies to more quickly deploy Siemens’ IPTV services that interoperate with Tut Systems’ Astria content processors.

Siemens’ … IPTV middleware is portable across a variety of hardware configurations and supports extensive features to meet the growing demands of IPTV consumers.”
Siemens has rolled out its IPTV solutions to operators around the world; its contracts cover more than 38 million broadband lines.
